Dinner!

Straight-up dinner, slight warm-up.

Properly exhaled Columbia Valley red table, quickly followed by prosecco & Austrian y-per blanc.

On a plate: grilled and lightly-decked rock fish, tabbouleh, twin focaccia offerings, all scratch, natch, satch.

Bouyant discussion of future plans and hopes.

total Deborah Madison star crunch.

We were joined this evening by A + T.

APP: white bean, sage, and roasted garlic spread, hard, flakey + smokey local sheep chz. wedging, soft and easy ‘brie’, and lightly breaded, sauteed sardines on wheaty French loaf. Bubbles.

Salad: asparagus on arugula with walnut vinaigrette

Din-din: chard + onion trouchia w/ almost added but finally left out sausage. More Ellie Kemper-esque bubbles, pinot blanchet + fizzy water.

Dessert: herbed/rosemary olive oil cake

Out of our yard and into our bellies: cuban oregano, straight-up oregano, cilantro, sage, frill-some parsley, basil, chard, big-leaf romaindered lettuce, rosemary, arugula.

The transcripts are back from the service: some past dinners include such tasty tastings as:

  • Satyr Meal Deal: Vegetable Tamale Casserole and/or Beef Short Ribs
  • Pea and Orecchiette Soup
  • Spaetzle, cabbage and sausage
  • Jumbalaya
  • Black bean and rice tacos with spicy sausage
  • Grilled vegetables and couscous
  • Home-scratch veggie pizza
  • Beef/pork roulade
  • Cassoule

There seems to be a slight sausage theme emerging. Unseen/spoken theme=arid white wine/cava/champagne. Details on future dinners will get better. The next dinner will be hosted and prepared by A + E.

did I just hear Dog Reed?

Dinner tonight at J’s began with bone dry white wine. Metal flavors hanging back for last.

3 cheeses: flaky mountain sheep, manchego with herby spine, funky diverting cheddar. Duo-toned sausage wedges and well-bubbled flat bread, ruffled.

Main SUPP: Well considered, equally regarded phantom bacon wrapped salmon fillets in marinade frasche, Quinceanera-moment Baked Potatoes, fresh Fresca greens with batonnet beets and dressing. Dry bubbly.

Dessert came by way of N.’s scratch choco-chip cookies and J.’s current chocolate holdings.
